Shape Your Space at Pres House

Pres House Student Ministry is a dynamic group of people at the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus who are building a space to explore what Jesus Christ has to do with life. Our name suggests where we're coming from and where we're going. Founded in the traditions of the Presbyterian Church (USA), we aim to build not simply a "church" but a home – a place that is shaped by the people who dwell here, a space for people to come and explore. There is no single entry way to our home – you can come in through a variety of doors. The atmosphere we hope to create could be characterized in the following ways:

• We want people to feel "at home" when they enter, no matter who they are or where they are coming from
• We are in a continual state of remodeling
• We leave spaces for uncertainty
• We share a meal together (our weekly worship gathering)
• Our home has a sturdy foundation
• We want our "spiritual building" to witness to Jesus Christ

Leading in Pres House worship – Help shape worship by leading through music, reading Scriptures, and sharing devotionals throughout the year. Join Music Director, Michael Hillestad, in helping lead the Pres House Worship Community in musical worship. Singers and instrumentalists wanted!

Leading and coordinating small groups – Lead small groups, with opportunities to create groups that relate to your interests and passions. Groups may include Bible studies, prayer groups, and other interest groups.

Leading and coordinating fellowship activities – Help plan fellowship events each year. Previous fellowship events have included multiple holiday parties, gatherings at Concerts on the Square, and trips to Milwaukee.

Leading and coordinating service events – Set up service opportunities for Pres House, connecting with area organizations. Past local service events have included work with Grace Episcopal Men’s Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, and St. Vincent de Paul’s food pantry. 

Student board participation – Multiple students participate as Student Board Members as elected by the PSCF Board of Directors. This position requires attendance at all board meetings and functions.
